I Can’t Stop Staring At Their Wedding Pictures
I recently found out that a person my age from Woodinville got married last September. I’m shocked because I know they were either 19 or 20. Married? At that age? I can’t believe it. That’s so young. This must be the start of more. Nothing can phase me now. Who will I know that gets married next? I’m too young to deal with this now!
How old were you when the first of your friends got married?

I was 20, they were 23. I was friends with a couple people in my brother’s class. One of my friends just got married in march and she’s younger than me.

Probably 20 or 21, though I don’t recall for sure. I know at least 6 people who are engaged right now, two of whom are 21 and getting married later this month (not to each other – these are two separate instances).

Is it weird for you?

Not in general. But if it’s someone I’ve gone to school with since high school or junior high, then it’s odd because I still tend to think of them as being too young to get married. But if it’s someone I’ve only known a short while, it doesn’t seem as odd.

18. They were 20. It was a shotgun marriage.

I’m 25 now, my friends were all getting hitched a few years ago, or so.
My parents were married and had my older brother at 19. That’s weird as hell to think about for me.

Gahhhh…I don’t get it.
One of my friends from highschool is getting married in August and she’ll only be 19. It’s nuts. Especially for people who don’t believe in divorce. It’s like, people change as they age…ESPECIALLY in the 20-something age range. I don’t think a lot of people realize how much their goals and personalities are going to change withing 5 years or so.
